Every employee gets a profile and a self-service portal on the web and the mobile app. People keep their own details and documents current and ask for what they need; HR approves instead of retyping.

We price it against the alternative. In July 2026 we compared Zoho People with a cloud time clock for a 70-person institute in Mexico. The time clock cost less for attendance alone. For about MX$975 a month more, Zoho People added the employee file, onboarding, LFT vacation rules, timesheets and self-service, with no hardware to buy. We will run the same numbers for you.

Questions people ask first.
What is Zoho People?
Zoho People is Zoho's cloud HR software. It keeps the employee database and HR files, handles time off, attendance, shifts and timesheets, runs onboarding and offboarding, and adds performance reviews, an HR help desk and a learning system on the higher plans. Employees use it themselves on the web and the mobile app.
How much does Zoho People cost?
Billed yearly, per user a month: Essential HR $1.25, Professional $2, Premium $3 and Enterprise $4.50. Billed monthly: $1.50, $2.50, $3.50 and $5. In Mexico, Zoho lists Mex$15, 30, 45 and 75 a month billed yearly, plus IVA. Paid plans need at least 5 users, and over 500 users is quoted.
Is Zoho People free?
Yes, for up to 5 users, with the employee database and time off. Paid plans come with a 30-day free trial and no credit card.
Which plan has attendance and clock-in?
Professional. It adds attendance, timesheets and shift rosters to Essential HR. Performance reviews start at Premium, and the HR help desk, learning system and sandbox are in Enterprise.
Does Zoho People handle vacation under Mexico's labor law?
Yes, once the leave policy is set up for it. Under the Ley Federal del Trabajo since 2023, an employee gets 12 vacation days after the first year, 2 more each year up to 20 in year five, then 2 more every five years. Zoho People can grant days by years of service, so the change at each anniversary happens on its own. Prima vacacional of at least 25% is paid through payroll.
Does Zoho People run payroll?
Zoho People prepares what payroll needs: attendance, overtime and leave. Zoho Payroll is a separate app offered in some countries. In Mexico, we export or connect that data to the payroll system or accountant you already use.
Can employees clock in with face recognition or a kiosk?
Yes, on Professional and up. Check-in works from the web, the mobile app with GPS, face recognition, a shared People Kiosk tablet, or compatible biometric devices, and you can limit it by geofence or office IP address.
Is Zoho People included in Zoho One?
Yes. Zoho One includes Zoho People along with CRM, Books, Expense, Recruit and the other apps under one license. If you need more than HR, compare the two before you buy.
Zoho People or a time clock?
A time clock solves attendance. Zoho People includes attendance and adds the employee file, onboarding, leave policies, timesheets and self-service, without buying hardware. For attendance alone a time clock can cost less; we price both for your headcount.
Is Creator Scripts a Zoho partner?
Yes. We are an authorized Zoho partner and have built on Zoho for more than ten years, for clients in the United States, Mexico and Latin America. We set up Zoho People, connect it to your other Zoho apps and train your team.
